Our roots

About Natural ADHD Remedy

A plain-English resource connecting ADHD's underlying brain chemistry to natural, everyday strategies.

Why we built this site

Search for "natural ADHD remedies" and you'll find plenty of lists — exercise, sleep, fish oil, meditation — with very little explanation of why any of it might help. We wanted a resource that starts with the brain chemistry (mainly dopamine, and to a lesser extent serotonin) and works outward to the everyday strategies that influence it, so the advice makes sense rather than feeling like a generic wellness checklist.

Who this is for

  • People with an ADHD diagnosis who want natural strategies to use alongside their existing care.
  • Parents, partners, and teachers who want to understand the "why" behind ADHD behaviour.
  • Anyone curious about the relationship between dopamine, serotonin, and attention more generally.

Our approach to information

We aim to reflect the general scientific consensus on dopamine, serotonin and ADHD, written in accessible language, and to be upfront about where the evidence is strong versus where it's still developing. We are not a clinical or diagnostic service, and nothing on this site should be used to self-diagnose or self-treat ADHD.

Not medical professionals: this site is produced as an educational resource. It is not written or reviewed by a registered doctor, psychiatrist, or dietitian, and it should not be treated as a substitute for one. Always confirm anything you read here with a qualified healthcare provider before acting on it.
